MEA scoops grand prize at first Scottish
PR awards
MEA PR last week scooped the Grand Prix prize for its work
on HCI International Medical Centre at the first ever Scottish
PR awards in Glasgow.
The awards, organised by The Drum magazine and the Scottish
IPR, and judged by a panel including PRWeek editor Kate
Nicholas, were spread across 14 categories and included
campaign, individual and company prizes.
MEA topped the awards, winning the Best Public Affairs Campaign
and the Best Consumer Campaign for its work on HCI International
Medical Centre, the Glasgow private hospital that almost
went bust shortly after launching in 1994.
Edinburgh-based Atlantic PR was named Best Consultancy and
North of Scotland Water Authority's communications department
took the Beset In-house Team title.
In the campaigns sections Scottish Gas won Best CSR Campaign
for work entitled Carbon Monoxide.
3X1 scooped Best B2B Campaign for Highland Spring while
the Royal Air Force was commended in the Best Crisis Management
Campaign section for its handling of an accident between
RAF and US air force pilots on routine training exercise.
